1. GHC Staff Transition

NICK BW

Dear Green Hydrogen Coalition Supporters,

With a mix of emotions, I am writing to inform you about a transition within the Green Hydrogen Coalition. Effective February 12, 2024, I will be stepping down from my positions as Interim Executive Director and Policy Director.

Janice Lin will assume the roles of Interim Executive Director and Policy Director to provide continuity during this transition, along with an expanded support team from Strategen. Joe Goodenbery is taking over the day-to-day management of Strategen’s portfolio with the Green Hydrogen Coalition, and Sergio Dueñas is supporting Janice and Hope Fasching with expert policy support.

I want to express my deepest gratitude for your support and commitment to the Green Hydrogen Coalition's mission. I am proud of what the Green Hydrogen Coalition has achieved over these last three years, all of which have been made possible by your support. Your contributions have played a pivotal role in helping to enable the production and use of green hydrogen to accelerate a clean and just transition to a carbon-free energy system. Leading the Green Hydrogen Coalition has been a privilege, and I am thankful for the collaborative efforts that have made our initiative successful. The progress we've achieved together is a testament to the dedication and passion of our community.

As I reflect on my time, I believe it is the right moment for me to take on a new challenge and allow for new leadership to guide the Green Hydrogen Coalition forward. Please be assured that this decision was not easy, as I love what I do for the Green Hydrogen Coalition and hold immense respect for our work and for the extended team. I’ve had an incredible experience with all of you and look forward to staying in touch. Certainly, in my new role, I’m sure there will be lots of continued collaboration and overlap!

I am actively working on a transition plan and am collaborating with several team members to ensure a smooth transfer of responsibilities. Your continued support is crucial, and I am confident that, under Janice's guidance and with your ongoing commitment, the Green Hydrogen Coalition will continue to thrive and make significant strides in our shared mission. Please contact Janice directly if you have any questions or feedback.

Thank you once again for your partnership and steadfast support. I look forward to staying in touch and to the continued success of the Green Hydrogen Coalition.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Connell

CE GHC Dec Momentum

Whether you are a green hydrogen expert, new to green hydrogen, or anything in between: Join us to advance a clean and just energy transition.

To support continued education and policy and market development for green hydrogen (GH2), the GHC launched a consumer information website aimed at providing accessible, credibly sourced information about the benefits of GH2 and dispelling misconceptions.

Several unique features of this website include:

  • A Cleaner Future for Ports: The GHC created a video episode featuring labor unions, community leaders, and port authorities to discuss how GH2 is safely displacing diesel use at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
  • Hydrogen Around the World: Explore how countries, states, and cities around the world are safely utilizing hydrogen today through an interactive, regularly updated map of global low-carbon hydrogen projects and their status.
  • Individual Contributions: Individuals can now donate to the GHC to enable faster progress toward a GH2 economy.
  • Audience Building: To reach out to more “hydrogen curious” audiences, the website is also available in Spanish.

Throughout 2023, the GHC diligently pursued its mission to facilitate policies and practices that promote the widespread production and utilization of GH2. Our focus has centered on tackling barriers that currently prohibit the growth of a robust GH2 market. Through targeted educational initiatives, coalition-building endeavors, and market development campaigns, our core activities strive to overcome these obstacles and advance GH2 at scale for an accelerated and equitable clean energy transition.
